I decided to sell the home through ComFree because I didn't want to pay an agent's commission. I knew the home and felt that I could show it and highlight its features better than a real estate agent.
The ComFree representatives were very helpful explaining the process, doing the descriptive write-up, taking the pictures, providing the signage and doing the advertising on their website and magazine. There were two other units in our park that were for sale by agents and I was a little apprehensive. I had several interested parties that I showed the home to and in less than a month I received a call from a couple in Alberta looking at retiring in the Okanagan. They saw the listing on the ComFree website and sent their daughter to view the property and called back to indicate that they would take it. They drove out themselves two weeks later and closed the deal. The units for sale by agents are still for sale.
I saved nearly $8000 in commission that I can now use for other things. In fact the amount I paid to ComFree was about the amount the GST would have been on the agent's commission, which I would have had to pay as well.
If I can do it, anyone can. I would recommend ComFree to anyone selling their home. The staff are there to answer any of your questions and they made it easy for me. Thank you ComFree."
